The legacy continues as the College of Agriculture and Food Science (CAFS), UPLB remains as the only top performing school in the November 2017 agriculturist licensure examination; with a passing rate of 99.22% (128 passers out of 129 takers), beating the national passing percentage of 38.25 (2,883 passers out of 7,537 takers). A school is considered as top performing school if it has 50 or more examinees and at least 80% passing percentage. CAFS has consistently been the top performing school since the licensure examination was instituted in 2003.
The CAFS graduates who made it to the top 10 are: (5th) Mary Shaddeline L. Zafra, 86.33 %; (6th) Jhon Mark O. Trinidad, 86.17 % ; (8th) Angel Mae D. Mannato, 85.83 %; (8th) Bernard B. Panabang, 85.83 %; (10th) Jose Emmanuel I. De Luna, 85.50 %; (10th) Ardel L. Dela Peña, 85.50 %; (10th) Alexander C. Garcia, 85.50 %; (10th) Maria Kenneth Lane R. Suplito, 85.50 %.
The examination was administered by the Professional Regulation Commission together with the Board of Agriculture last November 28, 29 & 30, 2017 in testing centers of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga cities.
