Once again, the UPLB College of Agriculture (CA) topped the licensure examination for agriculturists held last October 19-21, 2016.
Roselle E. Madayag, a graduate from the Agricultural Systems Cluster (ASC) with a rating of 85.83, topped this year’s examination given by the Board of Agriculture in the cities of Manila, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Pagadian and Zamboanga.
Also included in the top 10 are Lyza M. Quilong Quilong (Crop Science Cluster) – 85.33 (2nd), Nerissa V. Paduit (ASC) - 85.00 (4th), Cyd Clarisse C. Palado (Crop Protection Cluster (CPC)) – 84.83 (5th), Diana SJ. Tabudlong (CPC) – 84.83 (5th), Diane Louise I. Lim (Animal and Dairy Sciences Cluster) – 84.17 (8th), Sofia Joy G. Quillope (ASC) – 84.17 (8th), Pee-Jay A. Rejuso (CPC) – 84.17 (8th), Dyanah Joy H. Amorio (CPC) – 84.00 (9th)
UPLB remains the top performing school in the licensure examination for agriculturists with a passing rate of 96.83%, beating the national passing percentage of 30.88% ( 1,790 passers out of 5,795 takers). A school is considered as top performing school if it has 50 or more examinees and has at least 80% passing standard. CA has dominated the annual examination since 2003 when it was first instituted.
As mandated by RA 8435, aII graduates with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture or Agricultural Technology from any school, college or university that is recognized by the government can take the licensure examination. (IMGesmundo, edited by CELee)
