CA hosted a welcome dinner for the Kobe University students

A dinner was held on Monday, 29 August 2016, to welcome delegates from Kobe University led by Dr. Yukio Tosa. They are students from the Faculty of Agriculture of the University.
The Faculty of Agriculture of the Kobe University provides students with basic and applied education of agricultural science related to “Food, Environment and Health/Life”. Their major fields include science for food production, evaluation and utilization of bioresources, focusing on biotechnology, food safety, and conservation of natural environment. The Faculty objective is to help students improve their creativity compatible to technological advances in a rapidly changing society.
Students delegates are participants of the three-week Basic English Course, under the LITE program of the College of Arts and Sciences, UPLB.
Present during the dinner are Prof. Mabini Dizon (Director, LITE Program), Dr. Tonette Laude, Dr. Maria Cynthia Oliveros, and Dr. Elpidio Agbisit Jr. with CA UPLB undergraduate students who participated in the Sakura Science Program at the Kobe University, Japan last 18-27 July 2016. Interaction between them reflect the growing partnership and friendship between UPLB and Kobe University.
Dr. Yukio Tosa, a faculty of the Department of Agrobioscience, Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Kobe University, was impressed with the circle made by the UPLB and Kobe students during the interactive game. He said that “it appears to represent a strong tie or bond between UPLB and Kobe University”.
The College hopes to sustain and nurture the partnership with Kobe University. (LBColumbres)
