The alumni association, which began as the UP College of Agriculture Alumni Association (UPCAAA) in 1914 is the oldest in UPLB. It was in the evening of the 1914 Commencement Day of the University in Manila at Padre Faura when 20 College alumni held a meeting to organize the UPCA Alumni Association. Bienvenido M. Gonzales ’10 was elected temporary president and Nemesio Mendiola ’14, temporary secretary-treasurer, until the Constitution and By-laws were drafted and approved. During every Commencement Day thereafter, the Alumni Association met, and every graduate of the college became a member. The strong character of the UPCA Alumni Association began changing when the Los Baños campus became UP Los Baños in 1972 and the huge UPCA departments evolved to become separate colleges. The College of Agriculture and Food Science maintained the alumni association which was renamed as UPLBCA Alumni Association. *

The College of Agriculture and Food Science is home to a number of men and women who have distinguished themselves in various fields of social activity. Many of them excelled in their respective fields of specialization, others used their academic preparation as “diving boards” to achieve their own vision as CAFS alumna.

The diversity of human interests pursued by our alumni can be gleaned from the contributions they have made in national and international development, achievements and awards received , and positions held in various organizations. The College of Agriculture and Food Science has every reason to be proud of them.
