The UP Board of Regents (BOR) 1322nd meeting on November 24, 2016, approved the establishment of the UP Professional School for Agriculture and the Environment (UPSAE) located in Anflo City, Panabo, Davao del Norte. It will be an extension of UP Los Baños in Mindanao.

The Anflo Management and Investment Corp. (ANFLOCOR) donated more than three hectares of land, buildings and facilities to UP. The UP PSAE will offer graduate UPLB courses and short courses. It aims to address the need for masteral and doctoral programs on agriculture and environmental science. Included in the initial implementation are Master of Science programs in Agronomy, Animal Science, Entomology, Food Science, Horticulture, Plant Breeding, and Plant Pathology.

Starting first semester of academic year 2017-2018, the school will initially offer an off-campus graduate programs and short training courses. It is expected to have its own faculty and staff to offer courses on its sixth year.

Since second semester of academic calendar year 2014-2015, the UPLB Graduate School together with the UPLB College of Agriculture and Food Science are conducting an off-campus MS Entomology program at the Anflocor Corporate Center in Davao City. (LBColumbres)

The BS Agriculture (BSA) Program of the College of Agriculture and Food Science (CAFS), University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) has finally received its ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) assessment report on 16 March 2017.

BSA received better than adequate rating based on the 11-point criteria set by the network. The assessment was conducted last 23-25 January with assessors Associate Professor Dr. Le Quang Minh of Vietnam National University and Dr. Agus Setiabudi, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia together with AUN Deputy Director Dr. Choltis Dhirathiti and AUN Programme Officer Wilansinee Sittisomboon gracing the event. Also, present in the said event to support the college were deans of the different colleges, former deans, retired professors, professor emeritus and national scientists of CAFS.

BS Forestry of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR) simultaneously also went through the assessment. The result was released two months from the actual assessment. (Written by CELee)
